[ The feed comes on to tall blades of grass and a blur of brown. A girl can be heard talking softly. ]

Is it on?

[ The blur of brown steps back. A Teddiursa ducks his head down to look at 'Gear. He falls, windmilling his arms in a frantic way, and lands on his stomach. ]

Kero-chan!

[ Hands reach down to help him up. The 'Gear lifts off the ground and spins dizzyingly before coming to an abrupt stop on a young girl's face. She smiles warmly. ]

Hi! Um, I'm Kinomoto Sakura. It's a pleasure to meet all of you. Kero-chan and I are on our way to... um... [ she consults the ground briefly. ] Cherrygrove! We're going to Cherrygrove. Does anyone know how long that'll take?

Well, I guess we'd better get going then, huh Kero-chan? [ She glances downward again for just a moment. ] So, um, see ya!

[ Action ]

[ Sakura walks through short grass, holding hands with her Teddiursa. She's fingering a necklace hanging around her neck as they go, and the Teddiursa swings their hands back and forth happily. ]

In a while, we can stop and take a rest if you want. I don't know how far away we are, but I'm sure we'll get there soon.

Are you and… Kero-chan settling out for Cherrygrove today? When my traveling party journeyed to Cherrygrove it really didn’t take very long, maybe three days. It really is one of the shorter paths here in Johto.

Yes, Kero-chan and I are leaving today. Three days doesn't sound that bad. I'm sure the walk will be nice!

It will be. I thought the journey was a very nice one, even with the cold snap we ran into.
You just might want to be careful of the tall grass. Sometimes Pokemon hide there who might want to battle you.

[ Her eyes widen a little. ] B-battle?

Don’t worry, you should be fine since you have a Pokemon with you. I just didn’t want you to be surprised if you ran across a wild one. Pokemon seem to enjoy fighting each other.

[ She looks fairly relieved. ] Kero-chan and I will make it! [ She doesn't think it'll be much different than sealing Clow Cards. ]

I’m sure you will. Do you mind my asking, were you assigned to be a trainer or a Pokemon breeder?

Trainer, I think! I haven't talked to any breeders. What do they do?

My friend Geo is a breeder. Instead of fighting through the gym challenge they capture pokemon and…

[ She's eleven, and that was the best way to put it to make her understand.

He face lights up in understanding and she grins. ]

Like birds do! So there's baby Pokemon, just like there are baby birds!

[Eagle chuckles over how adorably excited by that information Sakura was. ]

They really are endearing! I enjoy waiting for the eggs to hatch to find out what kind of Pokemon might be inside.

So you can't tell by the shell? My dad says that sometimes, you can tell what kind of bird is in an egg by it's shell!

Some people can. I am not a pokemon breeder though and I don’t know that much about shell types.
Besides, I kind of liked waiting for the surprise.

I like surprises, too. I want to raise a Pokemon from an egg one day. It must be so cool.

I’m sure you will have the chance to. People are always selling the eggs via the PokeGear. Just watch for a post that mentions it or you could ask around. Some one might already have a few they don’t know what to do with.

Oh! Thank you. When Kero-chan and I stop in Cherrygrove, I'll get on the PokeGear and ask around.
