8th Card [Video/Action for Otherhouse]

[ The feed turns on to... darkness? All that's visible is, occasionally, the blur of something orange or brown. When she speaks, Sakura's voice is slightly muffled, but still audible. ]

Do you- [ She breaks off. There's a low whining sound, like that of a dog, from somewhere close by. ] Do you guys have somebody that you love more than anybody else? Like, a person you love the most? Who's your number one person?

[ The feed movies, and Sakura's voice becomes a little bit more muffled. ]

And, if you do, are they here with you? Or are they at home? Do you miss them? [ She goes quiet for several long moments. Then, without warning, the feed goes off.

To those at the Otherhouse who would like to find Sakura, she's out near the garden, sitting hidden and squished between a very large Ursaring and a very large Arcanine. ]

[All of Cecil's parental and protective instincts have been activated.]

My wife was here, for some time. She left a few months ago, and I've missed her every day since then.

[ This time, Sakura's face is visible, although the lighting appears to be terrible in quality. It's still clear, though, that she's not wearing her usual bright smile. ]

Did you cherish the time she was here?

Of course.

[He always cherishes time spent with Rosa.]

We travelled together, raised our Pokémon together... We'd go out to eat and spend the whole evening talking.

If you could bring her back here, would you? Or would you rather go back home?

[paladinlost]

Home.

[Not even a single second of hesitation.]

My son is waiting for me there, as are all of my friends. Besides, I cannot abandon my responsibilities.

[ A thoughtful look. ] I guess I never thought of it that way. The responsibilities thing. I guess I'd go home, too. But... I'd miss my friends here. And my Pokemon. [ Now she rests her head against something furry and orange beside her. ]

Ideally, we'd find a way to bring our Pokémon with us, and to communicate between worlds. Perhaps there are lands with those powers; if their inhabitants arrive here someday...

Nn. [ She nods. ] Then maybe we'll be able to have both. [ Now she smiles a little. ] That would be really cool. I could ride Toto to school!

Your Arcanine?

[It looks too big to be a Growlithe, anyway.]

That would certainly impress your classmates.

Yep! [ She shifts a little and holds the 'Gear further away from her face so her Arcanine is in view. She's sitting curled around his legs, and he looks just as sad as she did. On the other side of her is an equally concerned looking Ursaring. ] I could let my friends ride on him, too.

And if you attached a sleigh to him, you could bring along even more people, though it'd go more slowly.

It'd still be faster than walking, at least.

You could also melt any ice on the path.

Yeah! Then I wouldn't slip and fall.

Your neighbours would also undoubtedly appreciate it.

[ Giggling. ] Probably! And they could help me do my chores! Except for Kero-chan, because he's kind of clumsy.

[ At that, the brown mass beside her makes a sort of offended noise. ]

Yet he seems tall enough to reach the highest shelves in any house.

He is. [ More giggling. ] He's like, twice the size of me! And so is Toto. [ She pats the orange mass on her other side. ] And Tomo can fly!

That's always nice. Do you have access to the Fly HM and the Zephyr badge?

[notakaijuu]

[ She shakes her head. ] No, not yet. I haven't gotten any badges yet, but I plan on going back to get them later.

Look forward to that. Flying is the greatest feeling there is, excepted love.

I bet it is. I bet it's a lot different from riding on an Arcanine.

It is. Feeling the wind surrounding you, seeing the ground so far away... It brings back many good memories.

It brings back memories? So you've flown before?

[ She has, too, actually. Having magical girl powers, though, means that it's kind of supposed to be a secret. But it's probably different flying on a Pokemon than on a staff. ]

I have. I used to pilot airships, in my world. A ship's deck is quite different from a dragon's back, but the wind is always the same.
